Little sinners - big sinners (original title Min søsters børn ) is a Danish feature film by director Annelise Reenberg from 1966. The screenplay was written by the director together with Gitte Palsby . It is based on a story by the American writer John Habberton , who has become known to a wider readership primarily through his children's books. The film was first released in Denmark on September 30, 1966, and in the Federal Republic of Germany on December 16 the same year.
action
Even the smartest man learns when he suddenly finds himself in an "parentless" household with six children, two dogs and a guinea pig. This is exactly what happens to the candidate of psychology, Erik Lund, when he fled to the house of his sister to prepare for his doctoral examination, who at the same time went on a business trip to Paris with her husband and left the household orphaned.
When Margarete, the domestic servant, trips over a toy horse and breaks her leg, the catastrophe seems inevitable. Uncle Erich is spared nothing, not even the neighbors' accusation of being a "moron", and only with the help of the six-headed gang of rascals does he manage to keep the growing chaos under control, to pass his doctoral examination and the pretty neighbor's daughter for himself to win.
criticism
"Lengthy slap about the confrontation between theory and practice."
“The flick does not get beyond the level of a humorous penny novel, but still offers cheerful and pleasant entertainment, mainly thanks to the fresh play of the child actors. To be recommended to viewers who are looking for easy diversion in the cinema. "
continuation
The film was so successful that a year later, the same director released a second part entitled Min søsters børn på bryllupsrejse (translated freely as My sister is on a honeymoon ). In the German-speaking area, however, the strip ran somewhat misleadingly under the title Sünder everywhere .
