Poul Thomsen
Johannes Poul Thomsen (born February 15, 1922 in Bårse on South Zealand ( Sydsjælland ), Denmark , † December 16, 1988 in Gentofte ) was a Danish actor .
Life
Thomsen completed an actor education from 1945 to 1949 at the Odense Teaters elevskole . As a traveling theater actor, he then toured various Danish provinces until he settled in Copenhagen in 1950 . There he appeared in various roles and at several theaters, such as the Ungdommens Teater , (formerly Betty Nansen Teatret ), Fiolteatret , Folketeatret , Gladsaxe Teater and the Comediehuset .
Poul Thomsen also made several appearances on Danish radio broadcasts on Danmarks Radio , where he was a very popular speaker with a good reputation. In addition to his work there as a radio presenter and program announcer, he also worked in the Danish Radioteatret (radio theater), where he spoke various roles. He has also spoken several audio books for the radio station DR 1 and also for the Danish publisher Gyldendal . The best-known audio books were: The foreign mede af Albert Camus on DR 1 and from Gyldendal audio books the story En dejlig torsdag af John Steinbeck .
Thomsen also played in many Danish films and television productions as an actor. Mostly he embodied in film and television, small distinctive or important supporting roles. In the Danish television series The People of Korsbaek ( Matador ) and Oh, These Tenants ( Huset på Christianshavn ), he played in several episodes, among others. In the series of films on the Olsen Gang, he took part in various supporting roles in ten films. Overall, he was active as an actor from 1944 until Thomsen retired in 1985.
Private
Thomsen was first with Toni Biering and second wife Åse Scharling married . After his death he was buried in the Solbjerg Cemetery ( Solbjerg Parkkirkegård ) in Frederiksberg .
