The Kleine Pönitzer See is a lake in the municipality of Scharbeutz - east of Pönitz - in the Ostholstein district in Schleswig-Holstein . The village of Pönitz am See lies on its southern bank . It is located in Holstein Switzerland , surrounded by a hilly moraine landscape .
It is traversed by the Gösebek coming from the Taschensee to the north , which leaves it in the east towards the Baltic Sea.
The lake has an oval shape running in a west-east direction, approx. 800 m long and 200 m wide. It has a size of approx. 18 ha and a maximum depth of 8.9 meters. It is fished and there is a swimming area.
