At around 1800 meters above sea level, the Kleinitzer Almbach passes the alpine pastures of the Kleinitzalm, where it turns to the east and then plunges down a wooded gorge. In the lower reaches of the Kleinitzer Almbach runs to the northeast and flows through the Plon forest. Shortly after entering the Defereggental , the Kleinitzer Almbach flows into the Schwarzach at Schmittenkirchl opposite the village of Plon.
