Kleinvargula is a district of the Herbsleben community in the Unstrut-Hainich district in Thuringia .
geography
Kleinvargula is located north of the Unstrut and northwest of Herbsleben in the Unstrut lowlands. State road 2127 runs through the village , it crosses the Unstrut at Herbsleben and leads via Kleinvargula to Großvargula . In the Unstrutaue there are very good agricultural conditions due to mostly flat alluvial soils close to the groundwater and a favorable climate.
history
The first documentary mention was archived on May 9, 1267. The place belonged to the Electoral Saxon Office Langensalza until 1815 and after its cession to Prussia from 1816 to 1944 to the district of Langensalza in the province of Saxony .
Attractions
- The current village church was built in 1719 because the predecessor, which was first mentioned in writing in 1648, was dilapidated.
- Two stone crosses are in place. While the one on the eastern side of the street Kreuzchen is at the confluence of a field path towards Bad Tennstedt , there is a copy of the cross on the other side of the street in a front garden.
economy
The village has always been characterized by agriculture, and the farmers also followed the East German route and found new forms of agricultural work with the neighboring villages after the fall of the Wall.
