Kleinzerbst is a district of the town of Aken (Elbe) in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district in Saxony-Anhalt .

Geographical location

Kleinzerbst is located south of the city of Aken in a forest area. Neighboring towns are Reppichau , Elsnigk , Osternienburg and the city of Aken itself.

history

Kleinzerbst was first mentioned in a document in 1370. The village was abandoned in the 16th century and deserted . In 1594, a farm for the princes of Anhalt-Köthen was built in the village area . After the closure of the Vorwerk in 1717, the land was divided among the farmers and a permanent settlement was created again in Kleinzerbst.

In December 1952, Kleinzerbst reached the highest population level with 500 inhabitants. In the GDR, the population fell continuously, the largest source of income in the area was agriculture. After the fall of the Wall, Kleinzerbst was incorporated into the city of Aken (Elbe) on March 18, 1994.
