The Belair Clinic was opened in 1971 as the first private maternity clinic in Schaffhausen. From the 1980s onwards, she developed further specialist areas and in 1990 orthopedic surgery was introduced. In 2000, a day clinic started operations. From 2001 to September 30, 2019, Klinik Belair was part of the Hirslanden Private Hospital Group . On October 1, 2019, Swiss Medical Network took over the clinic. With the takeover, the name also changed from "Klinik Belair" to "Privatklinik Belair".
The Belair private clinic has been a medical partner of the Kadetten Schaffhausen handball club and VC Kanti since 2005 . The attending doctors are responsible for the medical care of the players.
