During the Hussite Wars , the monastery was set on fire in 1424. It continued to exist but became impoverished and the buildings deteriorated. Between 1520 and 1523 the convent was restored at the expense of the brothers Wenceslaus and Georg Bezdružický von Kolowrat. After troops from the Electorate of Saxony plundered and devastated the monastery during the Thirty Years' War in 1631, Heinrich Libštejnský von Kolowrat gave the order 7,000 guilders for restoration in 1644. After quieter times, the convent was fundamentally repaired between 1647 and 1648. In 1699 the brewery was relocated from the convent to a newly built brewery on the northwest corner of the cloister courtyard.

In the years 1715 to 1718, the complex was redesigned in baroque style by Johann Blasius Santini-Aichl . A high tower was built on the front of the monastery church and the cemetery chapel was laid out. After the monastery had become dilapidated due to stormy downpours in 1731, 1740 and 1745, the order decided to rebuild it. This took place from 1746 to 1750 under the direction of Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer . Between 1759 and 1765 the old convent was redesigned by Anselmo Lurago according to Dientzenhofer's plans. Under Prior Alexius Továrek, the construction of a new brewery began in 1773, which was significantly enlarged in 1880.

After the Communists came to power in 1948, the monastery was closed and from 1950 onwards it served as a prison and barracks. From 1961 it was used as a child psychiatric sanatorium, which existed until 1995. Afterwards the buildings were returned to the Augustinian order in restitution. It will not be used again as a monastery. The buildings are currently vacant; the Augustinian order in St. Thomas in Prague, consisting of five friars, intends to use them for other purposes, in line with its ethics and morals. However, there are no concrete usage plans yet.
