Architecture and history

The two-storey building was built in 1898/99 as a residence for employees of the mechanical engineering company Schäffer & Budenberg . The house, which is free-standing in spite of the originally densely built-up area, was built as a brick building. The appearance of the simply designed house is characterized by a flat average risk , in which the house entrance is also located. The risalit is crowned by a gable . The window openings are relatively large as round or segmented arched windows. The windows in each of the outer axes were designed as cross-frame windows and spanned with large overhanging arches.

The house is part of the listed street chain Klosterbergestraße 13, 16–28, 30 and is particularly important in terms of urban development in the ensemble with the neighboring Strubeschen Foundation .

In the local register of monuments , the house is listed as a monument under registration number 094 17837 .
