architecture
The east- facing , three-aisled, rib-vaulted pillar basilica with a choir square and star vault under a gable roof , rounded apse and - in structure and floor plan - clearly separated western gallery with adjoining corner tower in the southwest. Tufa church on a basalt lava base . The west facade and corner tower are structured by cornices , pilaster strips above the ground floor , console-supported arched friezes and round and arched windows . The bell storey of the tower has a biforium on each side and is covered by a rhombic roof.
The south side shows wall fields structured by pilaster strips with - too large renewed - four-pass windows in the side aisle or on the ground floor of the west gallery (next to the entrance) and arched windows on the upper floor. The pilaster strips merge under the scaled eaves into an arched frieze supported by console stones. The apse under the half- conical roof is structured by pilaster strips and an arched frieze under the sill and eaves.
In front of the half-gable of the south aisle, a group of crucifixions from around 1520/30 is set under a neo-Romanesque arched niche . The cloister is attached to the north aisle of the basilica and the west gallery - the aisles are only half as wide as those of the basilica .
