The Knight Nunatak is an isolated nunatak on the Oates Coast in the north of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Goodman Hills of the Wilson Hills it rises 6 km southeast of Cape Kinsey and 5 km northeast of Mount Conrad .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1963. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1970 after Melvin W. Knight, Secretary of the US Navy Task Force in Washington, DC , Christchurch and McMurdo Station for conducting Operation Deep Freeze from 1967 to 1970.
