The Knox Peak is a small, albeit prominent peaks in the West Antarctic Marie Byrd Land . In the Horlick Mountains , it looms between Vann Peak and Lackey Ridge at the western end of the Ohio Range .
The area was geodetically surveyed as part of the United States Antarctic Program in December 1958. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the mountaintop in 1962 after the cartographer Arthur S. Knox of the United States Geological Survey .
