Vann Peak

The Vann Peak is a small, striking and 2,140  m high mountain peak made of bare rock in the west Antarctic Marie-Byrd-Land . In the Horlick Mountains , it is the middle and most dominant three peaks at the western end of the Ohio Range .

The area was geodetically surveyed as part of the United States Antarctic Program in December 1958. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the mountain peak in 1962 after the photogrammetrist Charlie E. Vann (1921-1998) from the United States Geological Survey .
