Knut M. Olsen

Knut Magnus Olsen (born May 6, 1954 in Akershus ) is a Norwegian economic manager , farmer and politician of the Senterpartiet (Sp) and general secretary of the party since 2010.

Life

Olsen first attended schools in Akershus. After studying economics at the BI Norwegian Business School , he began his professional career in 1980 in the private sector at the company Harald A. Møller AS Skedsmo , where he was initially finance manager and subsequently from 1984 to 1987 managing director.

In 1987 he took over a farm in Vassenden in the Fylke Sogn og Fjordane and has since worked as a farmer in the milk and meat production. In addition, he began to get involved politically and socially in his place of residence and the Fylke Sogn og Fjordane. Between 1988 and 1998 he was the area manager of the Heimwehr ( Heimevernet ) and from 1991 to 1995 a member of the Jølster municipal council . Since 1995 he has been a member of the Provincial Council ( Fylkesting ) of Sogn og Fjordane and since 2002 Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of My Klebust Kunst & Handverk AS .

Olsen, who has been chairman of Senterpartiet in Fylke Sohn og Fjordane since 2004, has been a deputy member in Storting for the constituency of Fjordane since 2005 . In addition, in 2009 he became chairman of the Student Union of the Center Party ( Senterpartiets Studienforbund ).

In 2010 he became General Secretary of the Senterpartiet and thus successor to Ivar Egeberg , who in turn became General Secretary of Det Norske Travselskap (DNT), the association of Norwegian trotting .
