Knut Richter (musician)

Knut Richter (* 1960 in Hanover ) is a German jazz guitarist and singer .

Career

Knut Richter grew up in a musical family in which house music was also cultivated and in which the records by Paul Kuhn , Milt Buckner , Bert Kämpfert , Hugo Strasser and Django Reinhardt turned every day . After unsuccessful piano lessons, he discovered the guitar and later the banjo . The style of the self-taught was mainly influenced by playing with well-known Sinti musicians . He played in various formations and also with musicians such as Bill Ramsey , Joy Fleming , Martin Weiss , Häns'che Weiss , Buddy Wachter and Billy Mo ( Jazzt comes Santa Claus , 1995). Today he has his own projects and leads several bands, such as B. Take Jazz, Street Paraders, Knut Richter Swingtett, Knut Richter Trio and the jazz band Hannover. His sphere of activity covers all of Germany, Austria and Switzerland as far as Singapore.
