The wooden church of John the Apostle and Evangelist in Zakopane - Harenda was built around 1700 in the Baroque style of the wooden churches of Lesser Poland in Zakrzów near Kalwaria Zebrzydowska .

In 1947 it was transferred to Zakopane and rebuilt in the Harenda district. The church was then renovated by Władysław Jarocki , Jan Kasprowicz's brother-in-law .

Villa Harenda and the mausoleum

Villa Harenda and the mausoleum of Jan Kasprowicz are in the park next to the church .

The listed building is part of the Small Poland Wooden Architecture Route and the oldest sacred building in Zakopane.

Geographical location

The church is located in the Zakopane center, close to the DK 47 , which here Zakopianka is, in the Vortatragraben at the foot of the Tatra .
