Coalition for Bulgaria

The Coalition for Bulgaria ( Bulgarian Коалиция за България / Koalizija za Balgarija) is a political coalition in Bulgaria , which was founded in 2001 by several left parties around the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP). The coalition is represented in the Bulgarian and European parliaments .

In the 2001 parliamentary elections, the KfB received 17.1% of the vote (783,372 votes) and 48 of the 240 members' seats.

Since Bulgaria and Romania to the January 1, 2007 European Union were taken , there also European elections for the 6th European Parliament were held in 2007. In the rest of the EU they had already taken place in 2004 . In the 2005 parliamentary elections and the 2007 European elections , KfB took part in the following constellation:

In the 2005 parliamentary elections, KfB received 34.2% of the vote (1,129,196). It became the second largest parliamentary group with 82 seats. A three-party coalition was formed from KfB, NDWS ( National Movement for Stability and Progress ) and DPS ( Movement for Rights and Freedoms ); she put the government under Sergei Stanishev .

KfB participated in the European elections on June 7, 2009 and the parliamentary elections on July 5, 2009 under the following constellation:

In the 2009 parliamentary elections, KfB only received 17.72%, 747,849 votes and 40 seats in the Bulgarian parliament.

In the parliamentary elections in 2014 , the coalition came under the name "BSP and Left Bulgaria" and received 505,527 votes, 15.4% and thus 39 seats in the Bulgarian parliament.
