The Alternative for Bulgarian Revival ( Bulgarian Алтернатива за българско възраждане, АБВ Alternatiwa sa balgarsko wasraschdane , ABW ) is a center-left - party in Bulgaria . Your abbreviation АБВ are the first three letters of the Cyrillic alphabet (corresponding to ABC in the Latin alphabet).

history

The party was founded by its current chairman Georgi Parvanov , who was President of Bulgaria between 2002 and 2012 . It is a split from the Bulgarian Socialist Party .

In the European elections in May 2014 , the party received around 4% of the vote, which was not enough for one of the 17 Bulgarian seats in the European Parliament .

In the parliamentary elections in Bulgaria in October 2014 , the ABW received 4.15% of the vote and thus 11 seats in the 43rd Narodno Sabranie . It was involved in the Borisov II government as a coalition partner and, along with Iwajlo Kalfin, provided the Minister of Labor and Social Policy and Deputy Prime Minister.

In the 2017 parliamentary election , ABW only received 1.55% of the vote and lost all seats in the Narodno Sabranie .
