Branch Winery

The Kochertalkellerei , based in Ingelfingen ( Baden-Württemberg ), was a winegrowers ' cooperative that emerged in 2007 from a merger of the formerly independent Weingärtnergenossenschaft Niedernhall (founded 1937) and Weingärtnergenossenschaft Dörzbach with the Kochertalkellerei Ingelfingen. In 2012 there was a merger with the Hohenlohe winery in Adolzfurt . The historic wine press building, built by Abbot Knittel , is one of the largest self-supporting buildings of its time at the former headquarters of the Niedernhall winegrowers' cooperative .

history

Under the motto Two Valleys, One Future , the cooperative was created from the merger of the following three cooperatives:

  • the Weingärtnergenossenschaft Niedernhall , which was founded in 1937, with locations in Kochertal (Niedernhall, Weißbach ) and in Jagsttal ( Bieringen )
  • the Ingelfingen wine growers 'cooperative, which had already taken over the Forchtenberg wine growers' cooperative a few years earlier, with locations in Kochertal (Ingelfingen, Belsenberg and Forchtenberg )
  • the Dörzbach winegrowing cooperative , which did not operate its own expansion, but rather the WZG , with locations in the Jagsttal (Dörzbach)

Companies

The cooperative only operated steep slopes , some of which are now designed as transverse terraces. There was an own sales point in Ingelfingen.

Wines

The locations of this cooperative are in the Kocher Valley between Belsenberg and Ernsbach and in the Jagst Valley near Dörzbach and Bieringen. Both white and red wines are grown on steep slopes on shell limestone soils . In the case of white wine, the varieties Riesling , Silvaner and Müller-Thurgau dominate , in the case of red wine Pinot Noir , Black Riesling , Samtrot and Dornfelder .

Awards

So far, the Kochertalkellerei has received numerous gold and silver prize coins for its products at the regional wine awards of the Württemberg winegrowing association.
