The Kohlborn is a lake in the municipality of Süsel - southwest of Süsel / east of the Middelburg district - in the Ostholstein district in Schleswig-Holstein .
It is located in Holstein Switzerland, surrounded by a hilly moraine landscape . On its northern side it is spanned by a bridge over which the B 76 leads. The oval lake has a length of approx. 300 m and a width of approx. 150 m.
The Kohlborn drains into the Middelburg Lake to the west and from there over the Achtersee towards the Schwartau River . The Kohlborn area is part of the “ Middelburger Seen ” nature reserve .
Others
To the south of the Kohlborn there are two more bodies of water, which are flooded gravel pits - these are used for a water ski facility, as a swimming lake and as a fishing lake.
