The Middelburger See is a lake in the municipality of Süsel - east of the district Middelburg - in the district of Ostholstein in Schleswig-Holstein .
It is located in Holstein Switzerland, surrounded by a hilly moraine landscape . It consists of a large lake and a small lake to the north.
The water from the Peper See lake to the south-west and the Kohlborn lake to the east flow into the Middelburger See . The water collected by the Middelburger See flows in a north-westerly direction over the Achtersee into the Barkauer See through which the river Schwartau flows .
The lake has an irregular shape and a size of about 26 hectares and is shallow with a maximum depth of 4.3 meters. The water is fished.
The area around the Middelburger See is designated as a nature reserve " Middelburger Seen ".

Southeast of the Mittelburger See z. Partly only separated by narrow dams are two other bodies of water which are flooded gravel pits - these are used for a water ski facility, as a swimming lake and as a fishing lake.
