Kōichi Yamazaki
Kōichi Yamazaki ( Japanese 山崎 弘 一 , Yamazaki Kōichi ; * around 1950) is a Japanese jazz musician ( double bass ).
Kōichi Yamazaki was active in the Tokyo jazz scene from the 1970s, u. a. in the trio of pianist Shoji Aketagawa , with whom the first recordings were made in 1973 ( Fly Me to the Moon ). In the following years he worked a. a. with Kazumi Odagiri , Kōichi Matsukaze , in the formation Seikatsu Kōjō Iinkai and with Fumio Itabashi . After Tom Lord he was involved in ten recording sessions in the field of jazz between 1974 and 1986; in later years he recorded the album Duo: I Guess Everything Reminds You of Something (Chitei Records, 2001) as a duo with saxophonist Naohiro Kawashita , with cover versions of standards such as " Alone Together ", " Besame Mucho " and " Now's the." Time ".
