The Partia Komuniste e Shqipërisë (PKSh) ( Albanian for Communist Party of Albania), a communist and as antirevisionistisch and Marxist-Leninist significant party in Albania .

The PKSh was founded in 1991 as a split from the Party of Labor of Albania , which later changed its name to Partia Socialiste e Shqipërisë . The PKSh refers to Enver Hoxha , who was the dictator of the People's Socialist Republic of Albania from 1944 to 1985 .

history

The PKSh was approved on November 9, 1991. One of the founders is the Union of Volunteers - Enver Hoxha ( Albanian  Shokata ë Bashkimit Vullnetar - Enver Hoxha ), which broke away from the PPSh in February 1991 . The PKSh received 0.5% of the vote in the 1992 parliamentary elections. It was banned in July 1992 (under the first government of the Democratic Party of Albania ). Soon afterwards it split into two factions, which fought violently under the leadership of Hysni Milloshi and Razi Brahimis. The latter group announced the founding of a new party on May 5, 1993 in its organ Jehona . Four of its leading members were sentenced in 1995 to several years in prison. The PKSh was re-approved in April 1998.

After that, two other groups went public, the Communist Party of Reconstruction ( Albanian  Partia Komuniste e Rindërtuar ) Razi Brahimis and the New Labor Party of Albania ( Albanian  Partia e Re e Punës së Shqipërisë ) Agim Xhekas, which was officially approved in August 1998 . Both parties united on June 5, 1999 to form the Party of the United Communists of Albania ( Albanian  Partia e Komunistëve të Bashkuar të Shqipërisë ) (PKBSh). In the 2001 parliamentary elections, the PKSh and PKBSh together received just over 1% of the vote.

The PKBSh merged on June 30, 2002 with a split from the PKSh to form the Party of Labor of Albania ( Albanian  Partia e Punës e Shqipërisë ) (PPSh). The PKSh and PPSh each received around 0.7 percent of the vote in the 2005 general election. They worked together on November 4th, 2005 in the National Inter-Party Committee of the Albanian Communist Movement.

On October 28, 2006, they united (together with smaller groups) to form the Communist Party of Albania under the leadership of Hysni Milloshi, who was party chairman until his death in April 2012. The PKSh website has been deactivated (presumably at the beginning of 2017). In the 2017 parliamentary elections, the PKSh received 1,026 votes (around 0.1 percent of the vote).
