José Villalón Mercado

José Villalón Mercado (born December 23, 1894 in Uruapan , Michoacán , Mexico , † February 16, 1983 ) was auxiliary bishop in Mexico City .

Life

José Villalón Mercado received on 30 October 1927, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On April 1, 1952, Pope Pius XII appointed him . the titular bishop of Hermiana and ordered him auxiliary bishop in Mexico City. The Archbishop of Mexico City, Luis María Martínez y Rodríguez , gave him episcopal ordination on August 3 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Tulancingo , Miguel Darío Miranda y Gómez , and the Bishop of Tacámbaro , José Abraham Martínez Betancourt .

On September 12, 1977 Pope Paul VI. the resignation put forward by José Villalón Mercado for reasons of age.
