The Comoros bush warbler reaches a size of 18 to 20 centimeters. The upper side and the long stepped tail are uniformly dull olive-green, the lighter underside is gray-green. It has no eye stripe like the Madagascar bush warbler ( Nesillas typica ), to which it is closely related. The iris and beak are brown. The legs and feet are flesh-colored.
