Konrad Gumbel

Konrad Gumbel (born October 20, 1886 in Falkenberg , † December 29, 1962 in Gießen ) was a Hessian politician ( SPD ) and a former member of the Hessian state parliament .

Konrad Gumbel was the son of the Wagner (Johann) Heinrich Gumbel and his wife Barbara Elisabeth, nee Hassenpflug. He was married to Margaretha Johanna Ida, nee Sader. Konrad Gumbel was a Protestant.

Konrad Gumbel did a molding apprenticeship after attending elementary school. As a participant in the First World War , he was injured and retired from military service with war blindness. He attended the Marburg College for the Blind and studied economics in Marburg and Giessen. He completed his studies with a degree in economics and received his doctorate. rer. pole. He then worked as a lecturer at adult education centers and educational institutions of the SPD. From 1945 he was head of the Gießen pension office.

Konrad Gumbel was a member of the German Metalworkers' Association from 1906 to 1933 and before 1933 a member and functionary of the SPD. From 1929 to 1933 he was a city councilor in Gießen and from 7 December 1931 to 7 July 1933 a member of the state parliament of the People's State of Hesse .

After the seizure of power of the Nazis , he could not continue his political work. From July 15, 1946 to November 30, 1946 he was a member of the state assembly of Greater Hesse, which advised the constitution, and from December 1, 1946 to November 30, 1954, he was a member of the Hessian state parliament for two terms .
