Konrad Emanuel Nikolaus Hirsch (born May 19, 1900 in Eidskog , Norway , † November 17, 1924 in Surte , Sweden ) was a Swedish football and bandy player . In 1924 he played two international games for the Swedish national soccer team and won the bronze medal with the national selection at the Olympic Games in the same year .

Career

Hirsch played football for GAIS Göteborg . With the club he first played in the Svenska series and recommended himself for the Swedish national team. On May 18, 1924, he made his debut in the national jersey when he ran up in the 5-1 win over the Polish national team on the side of players such as Albin Dahl , Sven Rydell and the other debutant of GAIS Torsten Svensson . At the Olympic Games in the same year he was part of the national team, but was not part of the regular formation that reached the semifinals and failed there against Switzerland . It was not until the game for third place against the Dutch national team on June 8 that he was in the starting line-up and made his second international appearance. Since the game ended with a 1-1 draw, a replay was necessary. In the 3-1 victory of the Swedes in the second clash with the Dutch on the next day, which meant winning the bronze medal, Hirsch was not involved. After Hirsch had qualified with GAIS for Allsvenskan , which was founded in 1924 , he was deployed there. However, he only made nine games in the Swedish elite series before he died at the age of just 24.

In addition to his career as a football player, Hirsch also worked as a bandy player. Like Filip Johansson , Gunnar Söderbom and other Gothenburg football players, he did this at Surte IS .
