Surte is a Swedish crime scene in the municipality of Ale . The southwestern Swedish town is about 15 kilometers north of Gothenburg .
History and traffic
Surte has grown together with the northern neighboring town of Bohus. Since the 14th century, the two places and the surrounding area belonged to Denmark . In the Peace of Roskilde the region fell to Sweden. It then belonged to the province of Göteborgs och Bohus län until 1998 , before it was dissolved and incorporated into Västra Götalands län .
Surte is located on the European route 45 between Gothenburg and Trollhättan , and the European route 6 between Gothenburg and Kungälv . The place is on the east bank of the Göta älv river , which was blocked by a landslide in September 1950.

Sports
The place is home to the bandy club Ale-Surte BK . The club formerly known as Surte BK played for several years in the highest Swedish league and recorded as their greatest success the semi-finals at the national championship in 1981.
