Konrad Koselleck

Konrad Koselleck (born March 9, 1971 in Heidelberg ) is a German jazz musician (pianist, arranger, composer, orchestra leader, also bassist). He is considered one of the top arrangers in the Netherlands.

Koselleck, son of the historian Reinhart Koselleck , grew up in Bielefeld and studied between 1992 and 1998 at the Hilversum Conservatory with Frans Elsen , Rob Madna , Henk Elkerbout and Rob van Bavel , and then followed up with postgraduate studies in arrangement and composition until 2001. In 2004 he founded the Konrad Koselleck Big Band , which performs every other month in the Amsterdam Bimhuis , but has also given concerts at the North Sea Jazz Festival and the Amsterdam Canal Festival . With Mons Records he released the album My Favorites Sing! In 2010 with this ensemble .in front. With the big band he not only plays jazz tracks (with Lydia van Dam ), but also pieces from classical and new music, such as Mozart's aria "Queen of the Night" (with Claron McFadden ). He also arranged Maurice Ravel's “Concerto in D major for the left hand” and had the solo part interpreted by a baritone saxophone (Ties Mellema and Katharina Thomsen ). He also performed his program The Concert to End All Wars (with Ellen ten Damme and Vincent Bijlo ) on scenes of the First World War such as Ypres .
