The cooperation Phytopharmaka GbR is an information organization for politicians, doctors, pharmacists and users on phytopharmaceuticals and herbal medicine based in Bonn .

history

As part of the efforts to harmonize the European approval legislation for pharmaceuticals , Germany's Phytopharmaka Cooperation was established in 1982 with the aim of integrating the special situation of phytopharmaceuticals into the new approval, processing and distribution rules and the recommendations for use by linking science and practice . The company works on the European level together with the European Medicines Agency and in Germany with the responsible pharmaceutical authorities .

The following topics are discussed in working groups and their results are published:

  • The science working group deals with safety, quality, toxicology and clinical experience. So far, 255 pharmaceutical drugs have been processed (2017).
  • The AG experience database has been operated in cooperation with the Cologne University Hospital since 2011 with the aim of providing experience to target groups such as B. to collect children, women of childbearing age and seniors.
  • The interactions working group critically evaluates suspected adverse effects from individual herbal preparations.
  • The package insert working group works with the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices to develop text suggestions for package inserts .
  • The children's dosage group is dedicated to the special issue of young people.
  • The AG Botanicals & Safety discusses the possibilities of using known medicinal plants as food supplements .
  • The Quality & Biopharmacy Working Group deals with issues relating to the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical quality of herbal active ingredients and herbal medicines.

The database on medicinal plants and their effects operated by the cooperation is set up for both experts and general advisors.

The scientific advisory board as managing partner consists of a 12-person team, which is formed from the respective representatives of the associations or clubs.
