According to the public agreement, the Vocational Orientation Coordination Office continues to see its task in a structured presentation of measures offered nationwide for in-depth vocational orientation for schools in order to create transparency.

history

deals

The publicly financed offers for general education schools in Lower Saxony include databases and measures for in-depth professional orientation.

The databases accessible to the schools include regional educational networks, examples of measures for in-depth professional orientation, practical positions for company practical days as well as sponsorship and mentoring programs .

The measures are an introductory professional world orientation, professional field exploration, industry practical days, a talent workshop, application training, offers for the upper level and a school / parents seminar.

activities

  • In the practical professional world orientation, the students go through several simulated workplaces supervised by companies on one day and work on action-oriented and practice-oriented tasks. According to the description of the measures, a basic introduction to different professions and occupational fields is offered.
  • The occupational field exploration module comprises five days, including a preparation day and a follow-up day. The students assign themselves to a professional field such as B. Construction, metal, electronics, care and education, media and design. Here, specific training occupations are explored according to the description of the measures.
  • With industry-specific practical experience, students can hold practical days in an industry defined by the school. "Metal", "Plastics", "Electronics", "Energy", "Gardening and Landscaping", "Warehouse / Trade", "Health and Care", "Business and Administration" and "Construction" and "MINT" are offered .
  • In the talent workshop, job-related interests and skills are concretized and suitable professions are found. In a subsequent three-day practical phase in a regional training company , the young people can check whether they are up to the demands of this training occupation.
  • With the action-oriented training for the realization of training wishes, the implementation of the previously worked out professional goals is promoted and the students are prepared for the application process. The contents are trained with the involvement of operational experts.
  • In a reflection of the study and training opportunities after the upper secondary level, a one-day competence assessment with self-assessment and external assessment, one-day information about studies, training and bridging opportunities as well as one-day application training is carried out for upper school students.
  • During a three-day exploration of studies and work, high school students experience a one-day training course on critical Internet research when choosing a course and career, a one-day trial course at a university with university representatives and a one-day company tour.
  • Involving the parents and motivating them to accompany and support the career orientation process according to the skills, interests and potential of their child is an essential component of the student / parent seminar module. Parents should see themselves as transition coaches and process managers in their children's career orientation process.
