Kootenai National Forest

The Kootenai National Forest is a National Forest in north-western US state of Montana , which on the border with Canada is and up in the state of Idaho extends. The Kootenai National Forest is managed by the United States Forest Service from Libby .

The 1907 designated forest area covers an area of ​​8902 km² and extends over the counties Lincoln , Flathead and Sanders in Montana, as well as Bonner and Boundary Counties in Idaho. It is home to two major rivers, the Kootenay River and the Clark Fork , as well as Lake Koocanusa .
