Amphoe Chiang Klang ( Thai อำเภอ เชียงกลาง ) is a district ( Amphoe - Administrative District) in the north of Nan Province . Nan Province is located in the northeast of the northern region of Thailand .

Neighboring counties (clockwise from north): Thung Chang , Pua , Tha Wang Pha, and Song Khwae districts . All of the Amphoe are in Nan Province.

history

On June 20, 1968, Chiang Klang was initially set up as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) by separating the four Tambon Puea, Chiang Klang, Chiang Khan and Na Rai Luang from Thung Chang . On November 16, 1971, Chiang Klang was promoted to Amphoe.

There are two municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

Phra Phutthabat Chiang Khan (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล พระพุทธบาท เชียงคาน ) consisting of the complete Tambon Chiang Khan, Phra Phutthabat.
Chiang Klang (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เชียงกลาง ) consisting of the parts of the Tambon Chiang Klang, Puea, Phaya Kaeo.

There are also three " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)

Chiang Klang Phaya Kaeo (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล เชียงกลาง พญา แก้ว ) consisting of the parts of the Tambon Chiang Klang, Phaya Kaeo.
Puea (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล เปื อ ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Puea.
Phra That (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล พระ ธาตุ ) consisting of the complete Tambon Phra That.
