Rosmarie Thüminger
Rosmarie Thüminger (born July 6, 1939 in Laas ) is a writer born in South Tyrol . She is best known for her books for children and young people, but also published prose for adults. In all texts she is politically committed as well as for peace and women's rights.
Life
As a child, Rosmarie Thüminger moved with her family to the Zillertal , where her father accepted a job as a teacher. He had opted to avoid the feared transfer to Sicily . After completing her training as a qualified pediatric nurse, she went to Rome as an educator . She later lived in France before moving to Innsbruck , where she now lives as a freelance writer.
Her publications have been published for adults since 1972, and later also for young people and children. Her books have been translated into Danish, Flemish, Dutch and Spanish.
Rosmarie Thüminger was the president of IG Authors Tirol from 1998 to 2003 and is state chairwoman of the Association of Democratic Women of the KPÖ .
