Roby Lakatos
Roby Lakatos (* 1965 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian violinist.
Life
His family, the Lakatos dynasty , which dates back to János Bihari , has been rooted in Hungarian gypsy music for several generations . Roby Lakatos developed his musical talent within his family before he began his studies at the "Béla Bartók Conservatory" in Budapest, which he successfully completed in 1984.
Between 1986 and 1996 he played gypsy jazz with his ensemble in a restaurant in Brussels . Here he was visited by Sir Yehudi Menuhin , among others , and it was through this attention that his international career began, which took him to the world's great concert halls. He had joint appearances with colleagues Vadim Repin and Stéphane Grappelli . In March 2004 he received an invitation to London to the “Genius of the Violin” festival, where he performed alongside Maxim Vengerov with the London Symphony Orchestra . Lakatos received an exclusive contract with the Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft .
