Amphoe Tha Wang Pha ( Thai : อำเภอ ท่าวังผา ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) of Nan Province . Nan Province is located in the northeast of the northern region of Thailand .

Neighboring counties (clockwise from north): Song Khwae , Chiang Klang , Pua , Santi Suk and Mueang Nan districts in Nan Province and Pong District in Phayao Province .

history

Tha Wang Pha was initially set up on October 1, 1962 as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) by separating parts of the Amphoe Pua . On July 28, 1965, Tha Wang Pha was promoted to Amphoe.

Attractions

  • Wat Nong Bua ( วัด หนองบัว ) - Buddhist temple complex ( Wat ) in the village of Ban Nong Bua with excellent wall paintings similar to those in Wat Phumin
  • National parks :
    • Nanthaburi National Park ( อุทยานแห่งชาติ นันท บุรี ) - the 548,125 Rai (about 877 km²) large park extends into the Ban Luang district , it consists of high mountains, such as the Yod Doi Wao ( ยอด ดอย วาว ) with an altitude of 1674 Meters. The artesian spring Ban Namki ( บ่อ น้ำพุ ร้อน บ้าน น้ำ กิ ) with up to 80 ° C hot water and numerous waterfalls are worth seeing .
