Amphoe Thung Chang ( Thai : อำเภอ ทุ่งช้าง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the north of Nan Province . Nan Province is located in the northeast of the northern region of Thailand .

geography

Neighboring counties (clockwise from east): Chaloem Phra Kiat , Pua , Chiang Klang and Song Khwae districts of Nan Province. In the north, the district borders on the Sainyabuli province of Laos .

history

The history of Thung Chang goes back to the Kwaeng Khun Nan ( ขุน น่าน ), which was converted to Amphoe Lae ( และ ) in 1914 . In 1961 it was renamed Thung Chang because the administration was moved to Tambon Thung Chang.

Thung Chang County is divided into four tambon ("subdistricts" or "parishes"), which are further divided into 40 muban ("villages").

Local administration

There are two municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Ngop (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ง อบ ) consisting of the complete Tambon Ngop.
  • Thung Chang (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ทุ่งช้าง ) consisting of the parts of the Tambon Lae, Thung Chang.

There are also three " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)

  • Pon (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ปอน ) consisting of the complete Tambon Pon.
  • Lae (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล และ ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Lae.
  • Thung Chang (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ทุ่งช้าง ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Thung Chang.
