The Koppers Holdings is an American chemical company that goes back to the German Heinrich Koppers AG . In 1988 it was taken over by the British corporate hunter Brian Beazer and restructured.
Koppers makes products from coal tar . These include tar oil for the impregnation of railway sleepers and wooden masts and as a raw material for carbon black production , pitch as a binder for carbon electrodes, naphthalene and phthalic anhydride . In addition, wood preservatives on copper-based manufactured.
