Kornelija Utevska-Gligorovska
Kornelija Utevska-Gligorovska ( Macedonian Корнелија Утевска Глигоровска ; born December 28, 1973 in Skopje ) is a North Macedonian diplomat .
Life
Kornelija Utevska was born in what was then Yugoslavia as the daughter of a German mother, Barbara Utevska, and a Macedonian father, Simeon Utevski . The parents met while studying at the Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg in the GDR . Kornelija Utevska grew up bilingual and attended kindergarten and elementary school in Skopje. She regularly visited her grandmother in Halle (Saale) . She then graduated from Josip Broz Tito Middle School in Skopje, where she graduated from high school in 1992. She studied philology at the University of Skopje from 1992 to 1996 . The main subject was German language and literature, with a minor in English . Since she was temporarily in Germany, she completed parts of the course as a distance learning course . From 1997 to 1999 she worked as an embassy secretary in the Macedonian embassy in Germany in Bonn . She also worked from 1998 to 2002 as an editor for Deutsche Welle in Cologne .
From 2000 to 2003 she completed a master's degree in European integration and communication. During this time, too, she often stayed in Germany. In 2006 she became head of the Cabinet of Ministers under the Macedonian Foreign Minister Antonio Milošoski .
In October 2010 she went to Berlin as the Macedonian ambassador to Germany . She accompanied the visit of the German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle to Macedonia in 2013. Her duties as ambassador also included looking after Johan Tarčulovski, who was imprisoned in Germany by the International Criminal Court . She held her post until August 30, 2014. She then returned to the Macedonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Skopje.
Family and personal
She married Eftim Gligorovski in 1998. The marriage resulted in a son in 2004 and a daughter in 2009.
