Korsnes ( Lule Hierenjárgga ) is a town in the municipality Hamarøy in the region Ofoten in Nordland in Norway . The village is about 5 km north of today's ferry port Bognes on the west coast of the Tysfjord . The church of Korsnes ( Norwegian Korsnes kirke or Korsnes kyrkje ) is in the place. The postal address is “8275 Storjord i Tysfjord” . The place is 8 m above sea level.
In earlier times, Korsnes was called by the Hurtigruta ( German Hurtigrute ). Today the fishing industry dominates.
