Kotu (Kanifing Municipal)

Kotu is a district of the municipality Kanifing ( English Kanifing Municipal ) in the West African state of Gambia .

The district is located in the northwest of the municipality and belongs to the place Serekunda and the district Manjai Kunda . In the 1993 census, Kotu was listed as a separate town with 4419 inhabitants.

Kotu is located in the northwest of Manjai Kunda on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean with Kotu Beach. The district is named after the body of water Kotu , which flows into the sea there. The district is bounded to the northeast by the Fajara Golf Course . The district Kololi lies in the west. The southern border runs south of the Bertil Harding Highway .

The beach section facing the Atlantic Ocean near Kotu is called Kotu Beach . The beach section is at Kotu Point and the mouth of the Kotu . To the south is Kololi Beach , at Kololi Point . To the north lies the cliffs of Fajara and Bakau .
