In its history, Kotzendorf has always had close ties to Königsfeld, with whom it formed a joint community even before the local government reform.

Surname

The name of the village has nothing to do with vomiting. " Kotze " used to refer to coarse woolen clothing . The puke (also puke) is a poncho-like throw without sleeves made from coarse wool or loden. Etymologically related to "Kotze" are the contemporary English word for coat and cowl.
