Puke (clothes)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Kotze (also sucks ; after Althochdeutsch "chozzo", "chozza") is a coarse Woolen (also sucks called) or Loden worked poncho-like union without sleeves. The cut is either rectangular or round and traditionally has only one head hole and one breast slit. More modern forms of vomit often have a stylish stand-up collar , a continuous button placket and hand pockets.

The puke comes from the Roman paenula - an overcoat - for which there is evidence since the 1st century. Manufactured by the puke maker , it was worn in the Alpine countries as work clothing and weather protection and, since the second half of the 19th century, also as hiking clothing . It is particularly suitable for hunters ( hunting puke ), as it can be carried over a backpack and hunting rifle . The term passed from the coarse fabric to the garments made from it.

Etymologically with Kotze related cowl and English coat ( coat ).
