Voitmannsdorf is a village in Franconian Switzerland with just under 125 inhabitants about 25 kilometers east of Bamberg. It belongs to the municipality of Königsfeld in Upper Franconia .

The village lies in the valley of the Aufseß river . The Aufseß that strong in Voitmannsdorf meandered , was during the land consolidation straightened between Voitmannsdorf and Drosendorf.

history

Voitmannsdorf, derived from Vogtmannsdorf, is where a Neolithic settlement was found.

The place used to belong to the municipality of Drosendorf an der Aufseß in the dissolved district of Ebermannstadt . Since July 1, 1971, it has belonged to the Königsfeld municipality and since July 1, 1972 to the Bamberg district . In this reorganization, the manifold relationships with the Drosendorf only a few hundred meters away were not taken into account. Since then, both localities have not only belonged to different municipalities, but also to different counties.
