The Kowmung River is a river in the east of the Australian state of New South Wales .
course
It arises near Tuglow on the western edge of Kanangra Boyd National Park by the confluence of the Hollanders River and Tuglow River . The Kowmung River flows to the southeast and describes a semicircle around the center of the national park. Then his run leads him on the border between Kanangra Boyd National Park and the southern part of the Blue Mountains National Park to the northeast between the hills of the Gingra Range and the Gangerang Range in the west and those of the Scotts Main Range in the east. Finally, the Kowmung River turns northwest and flows north of the Gangerang Range into the Coxs River , just before it reaches Lake Burragorang .
With the exception of the small town of Tuglow at the source, where there are limestone caves worth seeing and an unpaved road crosses the river, the river valley is completely unpopulated and not accessible by roads.
