The Koz Sar is a mountain in the Batura Muztagh in the extreme northwest of the Karakoram Mountains .

The Koz Sar is located in the Pakistani special territory Gilgit-Baltistan not far from the Afghan border.
The mountain reaches a height of 6677 m . The Chillinji Glacier extends on its northern slope . To the west of the Koz Sar, the Karambar river valley runs south. The Koz-Yaz Glacier has its origin 2.5 km northeast of the Koz-Sar summit.
Ascent history
In 1993 an Anglo-Irish expedition made an attempt to climb Koz Sar.
The first ascent was finally achieved by a 9-person Japanese expedition ( Sendai Ichiko Alpine Club of Japan ) in 1999 over a short mountain ridge on the south side of Koz Sar. The two expedition participants Takashi Ota and Katsuyuki Kuriyagawa reached the summit on August 17th.
