The Kampire Dior is a mountain in the northwest of the Karakoram Mountains .

location

The Kampire Dior is centrally located in the Batura Muztagh in the Pakistani special territory of Gilgit-Baltistan . The mountain reaches a height of 7142  m (according to other information 7068  m or 7168  m ). The mountain rises at the western end of the Batura glacier . On its western slope, the Karambar Glacier extends west to the Karambar River . The Sani Pakush is located 8.6 km southeast .

Ascent history

A Japanese expedition managed the first ascent of Kampire Dior over the west ridge on June 14, 1975 . The first climbers include Kazushige Takami, Sakae Mori, Yoji Teranishi and Yasuhide Hayashi. The name of the mountain means "old woman's house".

Minor peaks

The 6572  m high Kampire Dior II ( ) is located 2.1 km northeast of the main summit . This was first climbed in 1986 via the east ridge.
