The Akademia Leona Koźmińskiego (German: Leon Koźmiński Academy ) is a private business school in Warsaw . The state-recognized university was ranked 60th in the Financial Times European Business School Ranking in 2011. It is one of the almost 60 business schools worldwide with a so-called Triple Crown university accreditation and is the only institute in Poland among them.

history

The college was founded in 1993 as Wyższa Szkoła Przedsiębiorczości i Zarządzania by Andrzej Koźmiński . Koźmiński, who had previously taught as a professor at the University of Warsaw , named the academy he created in 2008 after his father, Leon Koźmiński, who died in the year it was founded .

The university offers Polish and English-language training programs for Bachelor , Master , Postgraduate , Master of Business Administration and doctoral studies in the subjects of corporate management , finance , law, sociology and business psychology.

In 1999 the university was the first business school in Central and Eastern Europe to receive the prestigious EQUIS accreditation. It was the first university in Poland to be accredited by AACSB in 2011. Since 2011, the academy has been the only private business school in Poland with the right to confer doctorates and post-doctoral degrees in the discipline of business administration . The responsible Polish Ministry for Science and Higher Education (Polish: Ministerstwo Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego ) had already approved the right to award doctorates in economics subjects in 2009 .

A double degree program has been offered together with the DHBW Mannheim since October 2011 .

The university publishes the bi-monthly, scientific journal Management and Business Administration. Central Europe . The manageable campus is located in Warsaw's Praga-Północ district . By 2008 around 9,000 students had taken part in the university's programs. Witold Bielecki has been the university rector since 2012.

She has been a strategic partner of ESCP Europe since 2015 .
