Andrzej Krzysztof Koźmiński (born April 1, 1941 in Warsaw ) is a Polish economist and university professor . He is the founder of the Warsaw Academy Leona Koźmińskiego and was its rector until 2011.

Life

Koźmiński graduated from the then Szkoła Główna Planowania i Statystyki (SGPiS) with a degree in economics in 1963 and a degree in sociology from the University of Warsaw in 1964 . In 1965 he received his doctorate from SGPiS. In 1968 he also completed his habilitation here. Koźmiński was a Fulbright scholarship holder at Carnegie Mellon University in 1971 and was an associate professor at Warsaw University from 1976. Here he headed the chair for management from 1981 to 1987, from 1983 as full professor.

In 1993 he founded the Wyższa Szkoła Przedsiębiorczości i Zarządzania im named after his father Leon Koźmiński . Leona Koźmińskiego , the predecessor of the university, renamed the Leon Koźmiński Academy in 2008 , which he headed as rector until 2011 and of which he is now president. From 1995 to 2001 he was also a member of the management team of the European Foundation for Management Development . From 1995 to 2006 he served as a member of the Polish Prime Minister's Social Economic Committee . In January 2010 he was appointed to the newly established National Development Council of the Polish President .

As a visiting professor Koźmiński was at the University of California in Los Angeles , of Washington University and Central Connecticut State University operates. Since 2006 he has been a member of the advisory board of the École supérieure de Commerce de Rouen . He is also a member of the Polish Academy of Sciences and serves as the chairman of the board of Telekomunikacja Polska SA .

Koźmiński has received various high orders and awards, including several levels of the Polonia Restituta . Until 1998 he was a member of the jury of Galeria Chwały Polskiej Ekonomii .
