Meder's son-in-law Johann Ernst Ebeling , who worked for some time in Meder's office, printed the first newspapers in Stralsund in 1686/87.

The youngest son Andreas Meder was killed in the siege of Stralsund in 1715 . After that, the offical went into the hands of the previous assistant Georg Christian Schindler .
